The Lingerie Football League is for real!!!
Pro Football: So, the Secret to Creating a Successful Pro Football League is Finding Talent
First, there was the USFL. Okay, before the USFL there was the AFL, but the USFL was the first league to tackle the NFL’s stranglehold on pro football. The USFL, the United States Football League, did so by signing some of the biggest and brightest stars coming out of college to their league.
Instead of watching Jim Kelly, Steve Young and Herschel Walker in the NFL, football fans had to buy a ticket to a USFL venue. The USFL also hired some really good coaches.
But they failed anyhow. Sure, some guys with business degrees might say that the USFL failed because of mismanagement and flat out overpaying players and coaches, but I take a different approach.
I believe that the USFL failed not because of any of that and not because they couldn’t attract talent. They failed because they couldn’t attract the right talent.
The truth is that football has evolved. The game has changed. The fans are more eclectic, understanding of the game. The game itself is more…open. Open fans need an open game. They did when the USFL tried their experiment in the 1980’s and they need it now which is why the LFL, the Lingerie Football League, figures to be the perfect candidate to succeed where the USFL failed.
First, let’s be clear, the grid-iron women who play in the LFL are not naked. Sure, they’re scantily clad, but these women are athletes. Just take a look at some of the players who make up the Philadelphia Passion. I wouldn’t want to be standing in their way when they rumble and stumble to the goal line. Second, they are playing football. Granted, it’s not the football that most of us are used to, but it is football and it is competitive.
I’ll come right out and tell you that the LFL is no joke and that the athletes who make up most of the teams are exactly that, athletes. Of course, the real legitimacy is when BetUS offers football betting odds on the games because if you can bet on it, it’s real.
We’ll see if the LFL is as successful as or more successful than the USFL was. I’ll be betting that it is, but nobody really knows for sure what’s going to happen. Their first season kicks off this fall and games will be played on Friday nights.
There is one thing that I do know for sure. Every media outlet in the country was probably bombarded by their journalists for press passes to cover LFL games once the Lingerie Football League announced their creation.
That, my friends, is something you can be sure of.
